KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Tyler Reddick ran up front for the entirety of the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway, powering by Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin on the final lap in overtime to earn his fifth win of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.

The 23XI Racing driver has now started on the pole in four races and led a lap in five races, finding Victory Lane in each one. With his victory, Reddick joins elite company alongside Hall of Famers Dale Earnhardt, Cale Yarborough and Richard Petty as the only drivers in Cup Series history to win five of the first nine races to start a season.

“It was really chaotic,” Reddick said. “We had a decent launch on the 11 (Hamlin). The 5 (Larson) put him middle of the three, and then the 20 (Christopher Bell) got to my outside — yeah, we all ran out of real estate off of Turn 2. It’s a bummer I got Christopher there, and pretty much took his shot of winning the race or running top five like he did all did away, so that one in the moment stings, and you just have to put it behind you really fast and go and win the race for Toyota. I was glad we were able to get back to the 5. I was really surprised we had that kind of grip on those right sides, but I took advantage of it and was able to make the move.

“It is incredible. To be able to capitalize on great days like this — this is SupplyHouse’s first race, to get them their first win with the team with 23XI is really cool. Just announced the Rockstar Energy partnership, so I’m sipping my Rockstar in Victory Lane for the first time as well. All in all, it’s been pretty great to be us, and we’ve made some good choices, but certainly have had some things go our way in some of these races.”

Kansas Thriller

Larson seemed to be the favorite to win after the overtime restart, as he held the lead entering Turns 3 and 4 for the final time. The Hendrick Motorsports driver, who had won the last two Kansas spring races entering today, had to settle for second after leading 78 of 274 laps.

“It was a good execution on the restart there at the end,” Larson said. “I got to the lead and I thought I could cruise right there to the checkered flag, but my balance on two tires was just super, super tight. I didn’t get through (turns) three and four fast enough, and then the No. 45 (Reddick, race winner) had such a big run on me from behind. I thought I could go to the top to get some load into my front tires, but it still didn’t turn there. That was a bummer, but just overall happy with the day we had.”

Larson also surpassed Kevin Harvick as the all-time laps led leader at Kansas.

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe was not really a threat to win in the Sunflower State until the only caution for a non-stage break came out right before Hamlin took the white flag. Cody Ware spun out on the frontstretch, and it gave Briscoe a huge break.

Briscoe’s No. 19 crew completed a four-tire pit stop and restarted overtime in 10th. The driver of the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota navigated his way through the field and got up to third place as the checkered flag waved.

“Yeah, great call by James (Small, crew chief) there to be on offense,” Briscoe said. “We were not very good. We ran about 10th all day long. We were able to make something out of it in the end on that restart. I would have loved to have another lap. I missed the 11 (Hamlin) — I didn’t quite clear him and it messed both of our momentums up, and it made it where I couldn’t make a move there in the end. I wouldn’t say we are proud of that effort. We kind of got lucky with that caution — we were going to run 12th with two to go, so glad we were able to turn it around and see if we can build on it.”

Hamlin’s No. 11 National Debt Relief Toyota was the dominant car all race long. However, for the second time in the last three races, the JGR driver led the most laps (131) and had to settle for a top-five finish instead of a victory.

“I mean, obviously it’s not winning,” Hamlin said about the frustrating ending. “It’s Cody Ware, six laps down, wrecking. I don’t know. It just added up. I feel like it was the same move that the 5 (Larson) got me a couple years ago when I was on the inside. I got to learn from those mistakes that I make, not executing those last few laps.”

Other Race Facts

Toyota is always a favorite to win at Kansas Speedway, and the Japanese manufacturer showed out yet again. Toyota had four cars inside the top five, five inside the top 10 and seven inside the top 15. All four 23XI Racing Toyotas and three of four Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas were the aforementioned seven.

It was not an easy start to the week for Toyota, as just this past week, former Toyota Racing Development President Lee White passed away. White was a guiding factor in getting Toyota into NASCAR. With eight cars inside the top 20, the manufacturer had one of its best races of the season.

Bubba Wallace, who was making his 300th career NASCAR Cup Series start, was among one of the four Toyotas inside the top five — as the 23XI Racing driver finished fifth at Kansas for the second consecutive race.

“I thought once we got past the bubble of eighth or ninth that we would really turn it up,” Wallace said. “We got to third and the 45 (Reddick) passed me like I was on jackstands, and I’m like never mind (laughter). We are still missing something, but hats off to the team. What an incredible year that we are all putting together. It’s an honor to be a part of a good race team with good race cars. It’s a lot of fun. I want it more.

“I’m pissed that he won; I’m getting tired of it,” Wallace said while laughing. “No, happy for him. Happy for the team. Pumped for Boys and Girls Club; gave them a good run. Appreciate them coming on board and all of the partners that came on board with then. It was a solid weekend from start to finish, not much you can hang your hat on.”

Ty Gibbs’ ninth-place finish is now his seventh straight top-10 finish, the longest streak of his Cup Series career.

Christopher Bell was an early favorite, and on the final restart in overtime, he got some damage and ended up spinning out. Bell, who led 47 laps and earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap (29.93 seconds), wound up finishing 20th. The JGR driver was also the only driver in the Cup Series field to do a sub-30-second lap.

According to team owner Justin Marks, Trackhouse Racing is going through a “rebuild.” Despite Ross Chastain winning the 2024 Kansas fall race, three races later at the 1.5-mile track, the three Trackhouse drivers finished 26th (Chastain), 29th (Connor Zilisch) and 36th (Shane van Gisbergen). After six wins last year, the current Trackhouse lineup has just two top-five finishes and three top 10s combined through the first nine races.

The 2026 AdventHealth 400 only had one natural caution, with the other two due to stage breaks. In addition, all 37 cars in the race finished.
